The WWW Wednesday meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. It’s a great way to do a weekly update on what you’ve been reading and what you have planned. To take part all you have to do is answer the following three questions:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
Currently Reading: A Column of Fire by Ken Follett.
This is the third and final book of the Kingsbridge saga (first two books: The Pillars of the Earth and World Without End). This time, it features Kingsbridge in 1558 -i.e., the Renaissance, a period I know quite well and wrote about a lot. Expect a review at some moment.
Recently
finished: The Borders of Infinity by Lois McMaster Bujold.
This is not part of the Vorkosigan Saga‘s novel, but it’s a novella set in the same universe. It features Miles Vorkosigan escaping a prison where he has been thrown into by the Cetagandans. Impossible for a Miles-lover like me not to read it, right?
Reading Next: Rome. A History in Seven Sackings by Matthew Knea
le.
As a matter of fact, this is no fiction, but a history book, which incidentally won the Daily Telegraph’s Best History Books of 2017 and
Sunday Times’ Best History Books of 2017. The title is self-explanatory. Full disclosure: I was born in Rome, Italy, once upon a time. I bought this book the day it was out and I can’t wait to read it.
Have you read any of these books or something in kind this week? Please feel free to leave comments and links below.
I have not heard Ken Follett mentioned in a long time. Good to know he’s still being read
He is, indeed. And this one is a good final for the trilogy
I hope you’re loving Column of Fire. I read the first two Kingsbridge books and enjoyed them so I plan to read the third book… someday haha. Happy reading and thanks for participating in WWW Wednesday!
Worth doing it! I love this WWW Wednesday, and I’ll participate again
That book on Roman history looks really interesting. It’s historical ground I’ve tread before, but I can’t resist an opportunity to become more familiar with it.
Here’s my post:

I have a classical studies background, so I’ve read a lot about this topic, but I couldn’t resist the temptation
I haven’t heard of any of these, but they have such nice covers
happy reading!
Thanks Kay!
Rome sounds like an interesting textbook. That probably would’ve been useful in my Late Antiquity class I took last year. Happy reading!
Here’s my WWW post https://www.boundtowriting.com/www-wednesday-june-13/
Many thanks, I am going to check it out!
You can never go wrong with any one of Miles’ adventures
You’re so right!
