Forthcoming on EHM blog – reviews

Busy time ahead, and the books piling up on my desk are now starting to look like the Great Wall. Some are ARCs from Netgalley, others are e-books I have purchased on a whim (shouldn’t I know better? I would need three lifetimes to read all I would like to). There are also some selected novels that have been sitting there for a while and that have now become overdue. And since I can’t possibly write full reviews about all of them, I’m going to ask for advice. Here they are, in no particular order:

Poseidon’s Wakes – Alastair Reynolds

Asura Girl – Otaro Maijo

Carrion Comfort – Dan Simmons

 Titan – Stephen Baxter

The Deaths of Tao – Wesley Chu

Nexus – Ramez Naam

Eon – Greg Bear

Contagion: Eyre – Alison Sinclair

The Ghosts of Sleath – James Herbert

Discount Armageddon – Seanan McGuire

The Damned – Andrew Pyper

Unlocked: An oral history of Haden’s syndrome – John Scalzi

Philip Jose Farmer – The Lovers

Uttuku – Robert N. Stephenson

The Leper House – Andrew Taylor

The Best Science Fiction and Fantasy of the Year: Volume Eight – Anthology

Inverted World – Christopher Priest

Child of Fortune – Norman Spinrad

Books of Blood – Clive Barker

Undertow – Michael Buckley

Forbidden Knowledge – Stephen Donaldson

In case you’re specifically interested in one or more, please let me know – by email, by social network (mainly FB/Twitter) or by posting a comment here – and I will write a stand-alone review. Otherwise, apart from the ones that take my fancy, I’m just going to post a summary or leave them out completely. Suggestions welcome!

I’d love to hear what you think about The Damned. I loved it! Also, I’m not sure if you’ve already read these books or not? But Carrion Comfort is definitely worth reading.

Hello Tammy, thanks for your suggestions. Yes, I’m either reading them now or going to do it in the coming months (hopefully, sooner than later). And yes, can’t wait for Carrion Comfort, I have just finished another one by the same author and going to post a review shortly.

Lots and lots of lovely books! I also read the Damned and thought it was good. I’ve read the Ghosts of Sleath as well – it was for one of my challenges.
    Happy reading
    Lynn 😀
