Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (1968) is a novel by Philip K. Dick, a dystopia set in a post-apocalyptic Earth, where nuclear radiations make simple things, like the ownership of an animal, a status symbol. Androids are part of everyday life and the protagonist, the bounty hunter Rick Deckard, has to track down some of them gone renegade. It is better known to the public for being the story that inspired Blade Runner, directed in 1982 by Ridley Scott, even though the two versions have actually not a lot in common.
