A New Home

After three years (or so) it feels good to be back into writing (and blogging).

It started with taking the time to reorganise my blog and solve (some of) the technical problems I had with the web presence of Frozen Wavelets. Which is still not back as a stand-alone zine but I got the content mirrored here in my new online ‘home’.

The Earthian Hivemind space has been reconfigured to host the blog itself, including Frozen Wavelets’ content (The Notebook section) and adding another section (The Bookshelf), linking what was before hosted in my writer’s profile (Russell H.). It makes easier to manage everything from a centralised perspective. The last section, The Universe, is instead a work in progress, where I am going to include all backstories and the lore of my own writing, a tiny morsel at that time (for the moment, only the page exists. But I still need to start somewhere).

In this long, forced hiatus, a few things kept me going in difficult moments.

One was Vivaldi, probably my favourite musician ever. Not going to lecture you about that, but the Four Seasons are something you never get tired with. If you feel depressed or just need something to make you feel better, don’t hesitate and put on Winter. It is sublime, in the Kantian definition of the term.

If you want a taste of it right now, here is one of the (many) versions on Youtube.

Shivers and tears on tap.

On the tears side, I have been rewatching Death Note (the anime). I have always preferred the manga, but I discovered the anime have some details not present in the manga that add even more layers on complexity to the characters — which are among the most complex and beautifully shaped of the genre. Expect a few posts on them for the anime section of the blog.

Last but not the least, I have been studying the MBTI framework of personalities, both as a way of introspection and as a writing tool (I tried to find which type my own characters are: the results have been somehow surprising).

It is also possible to take the test, and there are a few version on the web free to try, although not all of them all equally reliable. But fun, they are all. Enjoy!
