Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted at The Purple Booker.
Anyone can play along by doing the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers.
“Trials rarely found men not guilty. The general view was that if a man were innocent he would not have got into trouble in the first place.”
( ~A Column of Fire by Ken Follett, Kindle Edition, 2017)
[This is the third and final book of the Kingsbridge saga -first two books: The Pillars of the Earth and World Without End. I have spoken a few times about them, because I really enjoyed them a lot. This time we have a flash forward to Kingsbridge in 1558 -i.e., the Renaissance and the Religion Wars. Chilling and riveting at the same time. As a taster, you can read the first chapter here. Bonus point for me: some of the secondary characters here feature prominently in my historical fiction. Oh well.]
PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Teaser Tuesdays’ post, or share your ‘teasers’ in a comment here and/or in The Purple Booker.
