The most amazing event of the year will be generally lost to Europeans – but people in the British Isles will have a remote chance of getting a glimpse of it. As it stands, a partial eclipse will be visible in the UK at around 7.40pm on Monday.
Not a great deal, I agree. If you really want to get it all, you’ll need to go to the States, where the eclipse will be a total one – the first there since 1979. “It will travel across a 70-mile wide path, stretching from Oregon to South Carolina. It will last almost three minutes, during which temperatures will fall and the sky will darken as the moon blocks the sun.” (See the article for more details).
