Teaser Tuesday (20 November)

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted at The Purple Booker.

Anyone can play along by doing the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers.

“If you ever loved anything in your life, try to remember it; if you ever betrayed anything, pretend for a moment that you have been forgiven; if you ever feared anything, pretend for an instant that those days are gone and will never return. Buy the lie and hold to it for as long as you can. Press your familiar, whatever its name, to your breast and stroke it till it purrs.”

(~Creatures of Light and Darkness by Roger Zelazny, Kindle Edition, 1969)

[A fascinating novel by one of the most original SF authors. This one, inspired by the Egyptian Gods, is simply gorgeous. Not the first time I read it, and it won’t be the last.]

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Teaser Tuesdays’ post, or share your ‘teasers’ in a comment here and/or in The Purple Booker.

On my to read list, I think. Sorry I’m late this week! I’m reading “Passage” by Connie Willis who really puts her characters through intense wringers. I’d never thought much about near death experiences, and it’s interesting to read a much, much different take on the subject.
