If you like me love the short-short form both in fiction and poetry, you already know what haiku (and other short poetry forms, such as tanka, senryu, etc) are, and you probably read (and/or write) them, too.
After my previous post on microfiction venues (which needs to be updated since then, by the way; I’m going to do that shortly), here you can find a few markets are either specialised in publishing haiku & co or that accept them, in no particular order. [Note: Some of them are paying markets, others are not, but you need to remember that literary journals often don’t pay.]
Mirror Dance (*) Specialised in speculative fiction
Scifaikuest (*) Specialised in speculative fiction
Tanka Journal [By the way: good place to start to read tanka is Tanka Online. In case you want to give it a try as a writer, have a look at this first.]
The Grievous Angel (*) This one, together with being an SFWA-recognised market that pays pro-rate, also accepts haiga, that is, a haiku with an image. Awesome, isn’t it?
[Disclaimer: I’m not associated with any of them, even though a few, such as The Grievous Angel, Tanka Journal, and others, have published my work in the past].
Please do let me know if there are others to be included in this list, and I’ll check them out.
Happy reading /writing!
