Teaser Tuesday (26 September)

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted atΒ The Purple Booker.

Anyone can play along by doing the following:

β€’ Grab your current read
β€’ Open to a random page
β€’ Share two (2) β€œteaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
β€’ BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
β€’ Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

β€œGods are like people. They believe anything if you tell them theΒ right way.”

(~Β Tai-PanΒ by James Clavell,Β Kindle Edition, 1966)

[ One of the most beautiful historical novels I have ever read. The MC, Dirk Struan, is a man larger than life – and so are his enemies.]

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Teaser Tuesdays post, or share your β€˜teasers’ in a comment here and/or in The Purple Booker.

It was my Clavell’s first – and love at a first sight for me, too. For me, it’s a re-read after many, many years.

Ah… I recall being blown away when I read this book longer ago than I like to think:). A real golden oldie – what a lovely treat, Steph.

I am a big fan of James Clavell. Used to read his books obsessively during my teen years and still have very fond memories of them.
