Events – what to look forward in Summer 2017

There are a few events in the coming months worth mentioning in case you’re just making your plans for Summer. I have spoken in the past about them, so I’ll only briefly provide here names and dates, but you can search the archives for more details.

The first and most obvious (for Europeans, at least) is Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the single biggest event for performing arts in the world (last year there were a whopping 50,266 performances of 3,269 shows in 294 venues.)

The official programme is available online here.

Running as one of the shows but with a separate organisation is Edinburgh Book Festival – my favourite and an occasion not to miss if you’re in the area.

The dates for this exhibition are 12-28 August. Here the link to download 2017 programme.

Finally, Worldcon – the world annual convention of SF is this year in Helsinki – which is a short hop from Edinburgh, giving a good occasion to combine all these in one trip. The official name is Worldcon 75, and it runs on 9-13 August 2017.

To download and register for attending it, go to the official site.

And see you around!
