Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Books and a Beat.
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
“Isserley always drove straight past a hitch-hiker when she first saw him, to give herself time to size him up. She was looking for big muscles: a hunk on legs – puny, scrawny specimens were no use to her.”
(~ Under the Skin by Michel Faber, Kindle Edition, 2000)
[Note: This is the incipit of one of the best books I have ever read about aliens – for one reason: it’s written from the alien perspective, and your literally breathe their otherness in every page. The movie is good, but the novel is a masterpiece. I’ll write soon a comparative review, but for the moment, enjoy this teaser.]
PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Teaser Tuesdays post, or share your ‘teasers’ in a comment here and/or in Books and a Beat’s blog.
Sounds interesting!

Oooo… a well written book about ALIENS *jigs excitedly in seat*. Thank you for sharing:). Mine this week is a fantasy set in the Wild West… https://sjhigbee.wordpress.com/2016/11/22/teaser-tuesday-22nd-november-2016/
Worth having a look! 😀
I will!
Why have I never heard of this before?? Must check out:-)
I think you might like this one!
This is a new book to me. It sounds like one I’d enjoy. My teaser this week is from one of my favorite authors – When All the Girls Have Gone by Jayne Ann Krentz. Happy reading!
thanks Kathy, going to check it out!
This is the first time I heard about this book, but it looks very, very, very intriguing…
Thank you so much for showcasing it!!! 🙂
It is – thanks for stopping by!
I read this one years ago for a book group. It turned out it was a great one for discussion. Sad to say though, I didn’t much care for it. I thought the premise was really interesting though. I have enjoyed Faber’s other work.
I understand what you say here, difficult to care for characters so “alien”. To me it was very interesting for this reason. I haven’t read anything else of Faber, but I’m going to!
It’s going on my to-read list.
Worth it! 🙂
