Complex, at times dark and always fascinating, it describes fantastic cities and different races of humans and gods. Recommended also to people not necessarily into the fantasy genre. Winner of the 2011 Locus Award for Best First Novel and nominated for the World Fantasy, Hugo, and Nebula awards.
