Teaser Tuesday (November 24)

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of A Daily Rhythm.

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

That’s my choice of the day:

David_Mitchell_Ghostwritten

“You have to know someone intimately to be able to love them – so love at first sight is a contradiction in terms. Unless in that first sight there’s some sort of mystical gigabyte downloading of information from one mind into the other.”

( ~ Ghostwritten, by David Mitchell, 1999, Kindle edition)

[Note: David Mitchell’s first amazing novel, and a good way to get started with this author. After that, you will read all the others.]

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Teaser Tuesdays post, or share your ‘teasers’ in a comment here and/or in A Daily Rhythm’s blog.

Maybe it should be said lust at first sight, but I do believe we are hard wired to have that “thing” to help us choose a mate.

I agree with the lust stuff. Actually I’m not sure we’re able to make a clear distinction at the beginning of relationships…

I think there can be an attraction at first sight that some people mistake for love. Like the idea of a mystical gigabyte. My Teaser

I like the idea of the mind being like a computer, having the ability to download information; I wonder who the ghostwriter was! My tease is from an Internet thriller called Follow Me: http://wp.me/p4DMf0-12n

Actually… a ghost, or sort of. A complex book, but one worth reading.

Ahh… I’m not quite sure WHY, but I haven’t come across this one before – and I LOVE David Mitchell! I must get hold of it. Many thanks for the heads-up – I think the quote is great:). This is my teaser – don’t know if you’ve come across Cameron’s work…
