Leviathan Wakes by James S. A. Corey

Leviathan Wakes (2011) is a SF/ space opera by James S. A. Corey – i.e. the pen name of Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck. It is also the first instalment in the Expanse series, followed by Caliban’s War, Abaddon’s Gate, Cibola Burn, and Nemesis Games. It is set in a near future where the human colonisation of the Solar System has given a wider perspective to international relations (and conflicts). A must read for all the lovers of techno-thrillers and complex political scenarios, in space or otherwise. Leviathan Wakes was nominated for the 2012 Hugo Award and Locus Award Best Novel, and it’s currently being adapted for the screen by Syfy.

I think a lot of people are going to be reading this in the coming months to prepare for the Syfy show. I can’t wait, I love this series. December can’t come soon enough…
