Nineteen Eighty-Four (1949) by George Orwell is a novel that needs no introduction. Difficult to imagine a dark, dystopian book that had a stronger impact on our culture, or that got right in a surprising way many aspects of our present. Frightening and unforgettable. Ironically, chances are you have read it in school as a teen, as part of your English literature education, getting as a result Big Brother-populated nightmares and grim thoughts. That’s not a YA book, and yet, a must-read for anybody, young adults included.
