SF Classics – Lord of Light by Roger Zelazny

Lord of Light (1967) is a science fiction/fantasy novel by Roger Zelazny. It obtained a Hugo Award in 1968 and was also nominated for a Nebula Award.  Set on a planet colonised by Earthians, that have to adapt and live together with hostile indigenous races, it features Indian gods and a man, Sam, who decides to fight against them. Zelazny’s friend, George R. R. Martin, reused the names “Lord of Light” and “Sam” for his characters in A Song of Ice and Fire.
