Altered Carbon: The Trailer

You remember Altered Carbon, right? It’s the amazing book by Richard K. Morgan that redefined the whole concept of cyberpunk in XXI century, together with being an action-packed thriller that you can’t possibly put down. (And if you haven’t read it yet, go and grab a copy. Now. You won’t regret it).

I have heard rumours about Netflix doing a TV series a while ago and finally, voila’, the first trailer just came out. Awesomeness!

The show is written and produced by Laeta Kalogridis (the one already involved in Avatar, Shutter Island, Terminator Genesis, just to mention a few) and it’s going to run over 10 episodes, starting in February 2018.

And guess who’s playing Takeshi Kovacs -protagonist and unlikely hero – a sort of interstellar cops (called “envoy”) with a difficult mission to carry out? Joel Kinnaman (House of Cards), and I’m sure he’s going to portray more than well one of my favourite characters *ever* of SF literature. Last but not the least, James Purefoy (Rome) is going to play Bancroft -and if you don’t know who Bancroft is, I won’t write any spoiler here (read the book, read the book, etc).

For more, here the official website of the show. And the trailer, of course.

You have until February 2018. But I’d get it if I were you 🙂

Altered Carbon was awesome. I’m always a bit skeptical of adaptations especially of books I love, but this trailer actually makes it look pretty good.

Yes, me too. But for what I’ve seen so far, it might well worth the waiting.

This is good news indeed! I have not read Altered Carbon yet, but if it’s on the same level as “13” I know what to expect, and to very much look forward to! 🙂

Altered Carbon is one of those books that left me in awe, and it doesn’t often happen. I read it in 2007 and it reminded me of Neuromancer (book) and Blade Runner (movie). If you like cyberpunk, this is a must. Also, read it before the show 🙂
