Teaser Tuesday (26 September)

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted at The Purple Booker.

Anyone can play along by doing the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Gods are like people. They believe anything if you tell them the right way.

(~ Tai-Pan by James Clavell, Kindle Edition, 1966)

[ One of the most beautiful historical novels I have ever read. The MC, Dirk Struan, is a man larger than life – and so are his enemies.]

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Teaser Tuesdays post, or share your ‘teasers’ in a comment here and/or in The Purple Booker.

It was my Clavell’s first – and love at a first sight for me, too. For me, it’s a re-read after many, many years.

Ah… I recall being blown away when I read this book longer ago than I like to think:). A real golden oldie – what a lovely treat, Steph.

I am a big fan of James Clavell. Used to read his books obsessively during my teen years and still have very fond memories of them.
