Teaser Tuesday (23 May)

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted at The Purple Booker.

Anyone can play along by doing the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

For sixty years tens of thousands of clandestine service officers have gathered only the barest threads of truly important intelligence. And that is the CIA’s deepest secret.”

(~ “Legacy of Ashes” by Tim Weiner, Kindle Edition, 2007)

[ While I don’t always agree with this Pulitzer-Prize winner author, and, as an academic, I can argue about some of the points he makes here, his History of the CIA is a fascinating telling of some of the darkest secrets of the most (in)famous intelligence service of the world. More captivating than a novel – and definitively chilling. ]

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Teaser Tuesdays post, or share your ‘teasers’ in a comment here and/or in The Purple Booker.

I found it better than many spy thrillers, to be honest, even though a bit biased (against the Company).

Color me intrigued. We should all read more books like this. Probably shocking and eye opening.

This sounds so interesting! I’ve not strayed out of my fiction bubble for a while now – a timely reminder! 😀
