Back from the otaku’s paradise – a photo gallery

I’ve spent my Easter holidays in East Asia, most of them in the magnificent city of Tokyo – and, as every time I am in the area, I have paid a visit to Akihabara, the historical otaku district. Even though now the young and trendy geeks of Tokyo have elected Nakano Broadway instead (see this) as their haven, I still have a soft spot for Akihabara. Maybe because there are some unique features, such as the Gundam Cafe, or the HQ of Mandarake. Have a look below and have a taste.

Especially if you are a collector of manga and toys, you’ll find Mandarake something not to be missed – seven stores of treasuries. More can be found on the official website.

I’d love to visit Japan. The closest I’ve come to it is to have a Japanese friend. Enjoyed your photos. 🙂

Love Akihabara. Last time I was in Tokyo, I stayed halfway between there and Ueno, so I could walk both ways. 😀

I stayed a few nights in Shibuya as well, at the Granbell Hotel. It’s a five-minute walk from the station. 😀 Great place.

Yes, Shibuya is indeed great place to stay over and watching the mad crossing 😀

The crossing is one of my favourite places on earth. I just wrote a post about it last week. Did you know you can watch it live any time? 😀 So cool. https://lindaghill.com/2017/04/28/expedition-atozchallenge/
