Teaser Tuesday (October 18)

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Books and a Beat.

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

“Every beautiful creature,” she says. “Lives inside a cage.”

(~ Gutted. Beautiful Horror Stories, ed. by Doug Mourano, Kindle Edition, 2016)

[An amazing collection, published by Crystal Lake. It includes, among others, stories by Neil Gaiman, Clive Baker, Ramsey Campbell and Damien Angelica Walters. Even if horror is not your cup of tea, this is one worth reading. I’ll write a review as soon as I finish it, for the very same reason.]

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Teaser Tuesdays post, or share your ‘teasers’ in a comment here and/or in Books and a Beat’s blog.

Oh, my. That looks like an interesting book!

My teaser today is from a YA new release about bullying. A real page-turner. https://wp.me/p3Nz8P-XL

Sounds grizzly, just based on author names. Looks it based on cover. That makes the teaser downright sweet.

It comes from the best (to me) story of the book. I’ll talk about it in my review 🙂

I rarely read horror stories … okay, NEVER! I like the Teaser, but it looks like this one might be a little too graphic for me.

Strange to say given the cover, this is not graphic horror at all – at least, the best stories are not. 🙂

The cover turns me off, but your promise of a good read does just the opposite. Anything from/with Neil Gaiman is gold in my book!

I agree with you – both for cover and Neil Gaiman! But there are also some other great stories there, I promise!

You had me at Neil Gaiman, although the entire list of contributing authors is impressive.

Hello Wendy, I have rarely seen such a great collection of authors in a single go. Kudos to Crystal Lake for that!
