Teaser Tuesday (September 22)

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of A Daily Rhythm.

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

That’s my choice of the day:

21097454

Nothing was ever easy for them, but nothing was ever as strong, either. They were born knowing they were the kings of creation: they took the worst that the world could throw at them, including humanity.”

( ~ Poseidon’s Wake, by Alastair Reynolds, 2015, Kindle edition.)

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Teaser Tuesdays post, or share your ‘teasers’ in a comment here and/or in A Daily Rhythm’s blog.

Ah – I haven’t read this particular Alastair Reynolds. Is it good? I LOVE Century Rain, but find his writing variable. My offering this week is from David Nicholls’ Us https://sjhigbee.wordpress.com/2015/09/22/teaser-tuesday-22nd-sept/

Many thanks for you link. Re: this one, it’s better if you have read the others of the series, but it’s intelligible even without. I sort of agree with you about his writing – I love his novels, but a few short stories left me puzzled.

Though being the shallow sort, I’m sorely tempted just by the FABULOUS cover… It really is gorgeous!
